Browsing without an account
You can use every public page without an account. We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don’t sell or share data with advertisers.
Two small cookies remember your choices on this device:
- user_timezone: your timezone, so kick-off times are shown in your local time (kept for a year).
- theme: light or dark mode, if you chose one (kept for a year).
Like any website, our servers see your IP address when you visit. We use it briefly to block abuse (for example too many sign-up attempts) and in short-lived technical logs.
If you create an account
We store:
- Your username, email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash; nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your preferences: language, timezone, theme, favourite club, and the clubs, competitions and players you follow.
- Your match alert settings and, if you turn alerts on, the push subscription your browser gives us to send them.
A sign-in cookie (tikitaka_session) keeps you logged in. It can’t be read by scripts on the page and is removed when you sign out.
We send you a welcome email when you register, and match alerts only if you turn them on. We don’t send marketing emails.
If you contact us
Messages sent through the contact form (your name, email address, topic and message) are kept so we can reply and follow up. We email you a copy when you send one.
Why we use it
- To run your account and show the site the way you set it up.
- To send the alerts and emails you asked for, and to answer your messages.
- To keep the site secure and working.
Your choices and rights
- Change your preferences, follows and alerts at any time in your account.
- Turn alerts off in your account or in your browser settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or the deletion of your account through the contact form (topic “My account”). Deleting your account removes your profile, follows and alert subscriptions.
- Clear the timezone and theme cookies in your browser settings whenever you like.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists and removed when you delete it. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with them. Rate-limit records and technical logs are kept for a short time only.
Security and children
Connections to the site are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and sign-up and contact forms are protected against abuse.
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
